Reforestation
We need different kinds of fine wood from many places all over the world like Canadian cedar, African mahogany, Indian Rosewood, European spruce, etc... to manufacture our high-quality instruments and this is why we’d like to give our planet some of this richness back.
Our core business relies on instruments built with some natural raw materials like wood, so, we feel responsible to care for forests health and planting trees. We are also especially careful in choosing responsible suppliers.
Plastic reduction
In 2020, we began to minimize waste and adopt environment-friendly practices. Our newly designed instrument bags are now built with a durable shell made from recycled nylon.
This nylon fabric is a blend of post-consumer waste such as microplastics and discarded fishing nets. Fishing nets account for ~50% of the world’s ocean pollution and have become the primary offender. Efforts to repurpose these nets into renewable products can help reverse the damage caused.
OUR DONATION PROGRAM
Cordoba Cares is a ukulele donation program dedicated to spreading the joy of playing music! The Córdoba Cares initiative is our way of taking that commitment beyond the high-quality instruments that we manufacture. We started it in 2019 and since then,10 schools implement our music programs and 250 students enrolled each semester.
MUSIC FOR EVERYONE
Through the Córdoba Cares program, Córdoba provides free ukuleles to eligible music programs at L.A. public schools. The instruments are intended to be used and owned by the music club or group, not given to individual members. Eligible music clubs or groups range from low-income school programs, veteran & military support groups, senior communities, music therapy, and more.
CORDOBA CARES MISSION
We wanted to tangibly give back to our community and spread the joy of music-making to those who may not have the means or resources themselves. The basic set includes a concert-sized all-mahogany ukulele with a standard gig bag and a small accessory pack free of charge.
